25 Years of Planned Parenthood Los Angeles Guild - 2006 Food Fare
Food Fare 2006 was a great food event, which was dedicated to the passion and commitment
of Eldyne J. Gray, the PPLA's Vice President of Cummunity Services from 1986-2005.
Planned Parenthood Los Angeles will be forever enriched by the breadth and innovation
of the many volunteer and education programs. Initiated and let by Eldyne.
The event had a fabulous silent auction which include trips, wines, laker tickets,
Mommth & Montecito Getaways, Signed Sports Memorabilia and more. Planned Parenthood's
annual Food Fare: the tastiest food event in Los Angeles! The event had over 150
of Los Angeles' best restaurants, caterers, wineries, vendors, florists, and entertainers
to sample a vast array of the finest food and drink that L.A. has to offer – all
in one place!
Food Fare began in 1979 with a cooking demonstration by Julia Child to raise funds
for Planned Parenthood Los Angeles. Today, this delectable event includes more than
150 of Los Angeles' best restaurants, caterers, > wineries, florists, and entertainers,
and draws close to 2,000 Angelenos with an appetite for great food, great drink,
and a great cause. In addition to wonderful cuisine, Food Fare features a marvelous
Silent Auction. Bid on fabulous vacation packages, entertainment and sporting event
tickets, gift certificates, arts and crafts and much, much more.
Tickets for Food Fare were $125 for the daytime session (10:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.)
and $175 for the evening session (6:00 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.) if purchased in advance.
Tickets can be purchased at the door for $150 for the daytime session and $200 for
the evening session. The evening was delighful and had more than 1000 people enjoying
all the best of the best food, and entertainment.
The people who attended this great event were basically foodies, wine lovers, gourmets,
gourmands, gluttons and chowhounds – along with Planned Parenthood supporters and
the general public which also had a great time.
Food Fare is produced by the Planned Parenthood Los Angeles Guild, a group of 200
women who are dedicated to providing financial and volunteer support for Planned
Parenthood Los Angeles (PPLA). Since the group's inception more than 20 years ago,
the Guild has raised over $5 million for PPLA to support health care services, responsible
sex education, and advocacy programs. PPLA is the largest provider of reproductive
health care services in Los Angeles County. Great food for a great cause! Everything
from hot dogs to foie gras – a thousand flavors with one ticket! You're also invited
to our silent auction featuring vacation packages, tickets to events, arts and crafts,
gift certificates, and much, more.
Tickets will be held at the door. The fair market value of each ticket is $25. In
case of cancellation, all purchased tickets will be considered a donation.
